John McGinty wins the Supercross Midnight Summer Slam
The RC Pit hosted the Supercross Midnight Summer Slam on last Saturday. With over 80 entries the competition was deep in most classes. Qualifying was scheduled to start at 7pm but mother nature would unleash the rain. The racing would continue though with 3 rounds of qualifying ending at 2 am! Racing completed at 5am on Sunday morning! Crazy dedication from the racers and track crew!
John would Tq the Pro 2 Sc class after 3 rounds. A single 10 minute A main would have John out to a 45 second lead over 2nd when tragedy would strike losing a wheel nut with only a 2 laps to go. John would trike his truck around but would lose the lead in the very last lap having to settle for 2nd place.
In 1/8 E Buggy John would again Tq the class and this time make short work of the 10 minute A-main leading form tone to tone.
John's son John the 3rd would start from the back of the 10 car field in Pro 2wd Buggy and work his way up to a solid 4th place finish. Not bad for just picking up RC racing recently.
The owner of the RC Pit would award John a "Slam Man" award for his tough luck in the Pro 2 SC class main giving him a very nice pit board.

Tekin powers Ryan Lutz to Victory at Texas RC Pro Series
RC Pro Series hosted at Mikes Hobby Shop in Carrollton Texas was a scorcher. With temps at 112 degrees on Saturday only to "cool" off to 102 on Sunday the heat was a killer.
Ryan Lutz would once again run 4 classes including his Tekin powered 4wd Team Durango Desc410r and Tekin powered Dex408 E-buggy. Ryan would tq both classes adding to his list of 4 Tq's overall for the event.
Ryan would bobble in A1 of 4wd Sc but catch back up to the leaders. The leader would dump with just a few minutes to go handing the lead back to Ryan who would not look back, taking A1. A2 Ryan would lead wire to wire making no mistakes giving him the overall win! Ryan once again proving that the Tekin Rx8/Pro 4 power is tough to beat.
In 1/8 E Buggy Ryan would run mistake free building up his lead lap after lap with his Tekin Rx8/1900 Protek battery powered Dex408. A2 however would be much more exciting as Ryan would make a huge mistake with no corner marshal in sight. 6 seconds later he'd be back on track and begin to work away that gap catching up with 5 minutes left to go. Ryan would battle with Jake Dilinger but would get the best of Jake to take the win in A2 and the overall victory.

Sportsman classes. Ryan Lutz would take
the overall Tq position going into the triple A main format. Ryan would go out
in A1 and put the field a lap down with his Tekin Rx8/T8 1900 powered Team Durango Dex408

overall win. Fellow Tekin teammate
Martin Harrison would take 3rd overall.
1/8 Electric Truggy is big down south and this race was no
different. Young Damon Borkowicz would take the overall Tq. Shannon Amos and
Martin Harrison would round out the top 3 qualifying positions. Martin would
take A1 after a great start. A2 would be a battle between Martin and Shannon
with Martin taking a 2nd. This would give Tekin powered Martin Harrison a 2nd
and Nathan Harrison 4th overall. Both used a Tekin Rx8 and T8 truggy motor.
4wd SC Truck once again had Tekin powered Ryan Lutz taking all 3 rounds
of qualifying dropping into the 23 second lap region which was only a second
more than his 1/8 E buggy! The power of the Tekin Rx8 and Pro 4 4600 motor helped power Ryan to
wins in A1 and A2.

Renaud Sevoya takes the SAMC Supercross E-buggy title!
The SAMC organized his famous annual supercross, on my home track. The race was organized with a standard EFRA format and 3 different classes: 1/8 Nitro buggy, 1/8 Nitro truggy and 1/8 E-buggy. Great opportunity for the electric class. The 1/8 electric classes are not really promoted well in Europe but they are picking up! Reno was attending all 3 classes! It was an epic weekend!!
"I prepared the car perfectly as I couldn't have time to wrench on it all day! I lead the qualifications pretty easily TQing the 2 rounds I ran! I would so start on pole, and ready for the 3 legs format Amain. During A1, a terrible crash on the triple forced me to retire early. In leg 2, I was cruising to victory win one lap gap when my battery died in the last lap!! Fortunately, I had enough air to get the 2nd spot! In A3, I lead from start to finish, lapping the field after the 12mins main!
Great result and feeling with my RX8 combo! I used the T8 2050 motor with the basic linear set-up on my 808e and it felt great!" Renaud Sevoya
