The 2012 The Dirt Nitro Challenge kicked off on the 22nd this month with 2 rounds of scheduled practice. Racers from all over the world gathered for this event. With nearly 700 entries this race was surely one of the biggest to date. Truggy and SC qualifying were up first on Thursday. Ryan Lutz was on a tear immediately running laps so fast the minimum lap time had to be dropped not once but twice! Ryan’s Tekin Rx8 Pro 4 powered Desc410r Durango ride were top of the field after all rounds were gone. In the A-main Tekin would power over half of the field. Ryan was out front early and made one mistake letting fellow Tekin teammate Josh Wheeler buy. Josh would make a mistake of his own and Lutz would once again lead the race. Josh would have a technical issue with his truck and fall to the back of the pack. Tekin driver Tim Hethcox would battle to the 2nd spot with Chad Bradley who would have to settle for 3rd. Tekin team drivers were all using the Tekin Rx8 and Pro 4 line of motors.

1/8 Electric buggy rounds were run in between nitro rounds. After all was said and done Tekin powered Adam Drake’s TLR 8ight 2.0e to the Tq position. Tekin would power over half of the entire field at the 2012 DNC. This race would be full of wild crashes and fights for position. Many drivers were coping with a new lip that had formed over time which was kicking the cars a bit creating many a flips and tumble. Racers would trade positions many times with a great battle for the lead between Jeremy Kortz, Caron Wernimont, Adam ,Drake, and Jesse Robbers. In the end Jeremy Kortz would be out all of them taking the overall victory with his Tekin powered Agama buggy. Jeremy and Adam were both using the Tekin Rx8 and T8 1900 motor.
